What is Reputable Sitters?
A curated directory of housesitters who've made this their lifestyle.
Everyone here has earned their place through years of dedicated work — 20+ reviews that tell a story of genuine care, reliability, and the craft refined over time. This is where their reputation lives, independent of any single platform.
Hosts can browse, see terms upfront, and contact sitters directly. No fees, no commissions, no platform in the middle.
Who runs this?
Rusty
I'm a housesitter who has been housesitting almost full-time for over a decade across Europe.
I built Reputable Sitters because I saw what was missing. Existing Sitting exchange platforms are brilliant for building experience. But once you've put the work in, you want somewhere to showcase that reputation. Somewhere you can state your rates openly. Somewhere that recognises the difference between a first-timer and someone with years of experience.
This is that place. The next step for experienced sitters who want to own their reputation and be upfront about paid work.
The ethos
Built by a housesitter
Not a startup trying to "disrupt" anything. Just a housesitter who saw what was missing and built it.
High standards
Curated, intentionally small. Every sitter has refined their craft over years of dedicated work. Quality matters more than quantity.
Complementary, not competing
We work alongside platforms like TrustedHousesitters, not against them. Use both.
Direct relationships
No middleman. Hosts contact sitters directly. Then you're both adults — arrange things between yourselves.
What this isn't
This isn't a startup trying to disrupt housesitting. There's no venture capital. No growth targets. No plans to sell your data.
It's a curated directory, run by a housesitter, for housesitters. Standards are high.
The community is intentionally small. Quiet confidence. That's the point.
This directory isn't meant to be built top-down. The best insights come from people who've lived it – hundreds of sits, years on the road, problems solved through trial and error.
If you've got wisdom to share, solutions that have worked, or ideas for what would actually help experienced sitters thrive independently, get in touch. We're listening, and we want this to be shaped by the people it's meant to serve.

rusty@reputablesitters.comI read everything but bear in mind I am just one person and I need to verify everything - this is not about speed and growth - this is about curation and depth.
